The forest service Inventoried Roadless areas include approximately 60 million acres of land, most of which is in the western US, Puerto Rico and Alaska. Many of the roadless areas in the lower 48 states are plots of land that are immediately adjacent to wilderness areas, parks and other protected lands.
This website maps all of the roadless areas covered by the roadless rule. The site also contains a database of information about many of these areas and a place where anyone can upload photos and comments about the areas.
